![]() ![]() If you are interested, I’ve created a screen recording below that walks through the process… In today’s installment, we’ll look at a workflow that forces InfraWorks to rebuild the TileCache and hopefully repair a corrupt model. If the TileCache gets out of synch with a model, the model may start acting irrationally. It’s used to make InfraWorks operate faster when switching between views or proposals. The TileCache holds the “processing information” for all data sources attached to the model. If the corruption isn’t too severe, you may be able to repair the model by deleting the contents of the TileCache folder. ![]() When an InfraWorks model gets corrupted, it may become unresponsive, or prevent you from making typical modifications. Sometimes a combination of workflows, software, and hardware can result in a corrupt file. If you are interested, I’ve created a quick screen recording that demonstrates some assembly management techniques using the Prospector Tab. By leveraging a combination of the graphical and tabular management techniques, you can add even more efficiency to your corridor modeling workflows. When you get a chance, try accessing your assemblies through the Prospector Tab. Among other things, this feature is a great way to store popular assemblies within a template file without having to physically display them on screen. Selecting the “Remove from Modelspace” option, assembly graphics can be deleted while retaining their definitions inside a drawing. ![]() They can also identify (and subsequently delete) unused assemblies. From the tab, an engineer or designer can quickly locate and edit assemblies. Generally speaking, Civil 3D’s Prospector Tab represents a “one stop shop” for accessing all assemblies within a drawing. In today’s installment we’ll explore the benefits of leveraging the Prospector when working with assemblies. That being said, assemblies can also be managed through the Prospector Tab. Many times, Civil 3D assemblies are displayed and managed graphically on screen. ![]()
